Ringsworld.com and Spams

In no way is Ringsworld.com sending unsolicited email or spamming guestbooks and forums. We here at RingsWorld do not tolerate users who promote their rings or sites though spam.

If you are the recipient of spam messages which include a URL from ringsworld, please contact us and don't forget to include the URL showing in these messages so that we can immediately ban the users who are abusing the Ringsworld.com system to promote their sites in such a way.

How does it work?

Spammers use the redirection links that site-ring owners set up to count hits and visitors. As a result, a Ringsworld.com URL shows up in these spams instead of a direct link to the spammmer's site!

What to do?

  • Contact us and do not forget to mention the URL showing in the spam messages you have received. Thanks to this information, we'll be able to identify users who are abusing the system and we'll ban them immediately.
  • To protect your guestbook or forum you can use a visual confirmation code. This is an image showing a series of letters or numbers that a user needs to type to post a message. This will prevent spam bots from automatically posting messages.
  • You can ban messages which include a "ringsworld.com" URL. Most Guestbook or forum software propose this kind of option.
